Training week in the Northern Alps

firstwater.nl > trips > trainingsweek in the Northern Alps
The triangle Geneva - Annecy - Swiss border covers part of the department Haute Savoie. This region has a lot of small roads and surprisingly many cols, and therefore it is excellent for a centre based holiday for a week. We have designed routes of 80 - 140 km. We stay in Les Gets, a pleasant old village near Morzine. 'Around the corner' you will find the Col de Joux Plane (1700m), wellknown from the Tour de France. Furthermore this week include e.g. the Col de la Ramaz (1557m), Col de Cou (1116m) and Col de Jambaz (1027m). The day with the Col de la Colombiere (1618m) is the most challenging ride. Also a hill climb is a possibility. Firstwater will provide snack- and cycleservice.
We stay in a chalet, only 300 m from the center of Les Gets. (If the group is larger than 8 people we have two chalets next to each other, so in total there is room for 18 people plus the team of firswater.) Each chalet has a living room with fireplace, a well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, microwave), a garage for the bikes, sauna and washingmachine. The double bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom. All meals - attuned to cyclists - are prepared by firstwater. In other words: a complete cycle week for the well trained rider.
